Wrongful Death

A wrongful death lawsuit is based on the concept that, in addition to causing the death of a person, people who depended upon the deceased person for financial or emotional support may be compensated. The wrongful act may be a negligent or careless act such as careless driving, or an intentional act such as a deliberate murder. A representative is allowed to bring the wrongful death suit as defined by special statutes.
